Todd Michaelsen is a singer, songwriter, producer, and film composer based out of New York City. He is best known for My Pet Dragon which released their 2nd LP "Mountains and Cities"  to critical acclaim and incredible fan response. The single "Moonshine" is receiving national radio airplay and is currently being featured in a national commercial for Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine airing on the Discovery Channel.  My Pet Dragon had a big year in 2012 performing at major U.S. music festivals including the inaugural Catalpa Festival, Summerfest, SXSW, NXNE, Kahbang, The Breckenridge Beer Festival, and SAWFest.  My Pet Dragon shared stages with TV on the Radio, The Black Keys, Deftones, Bassnectar, The Walkmen, and MuteMath among others.

Michaelsen composed the score and wrote original songs for Nina Paley's critically acclaimed animated feature film "Sita Sings the Blues" which has won numerous awards around the world and continues to garner a huge cult following. He has also collaborated with world- renowned artists such as Karsh Kale and the Grammy-nominated Anoushka Shankar, co-writing and singing songs on albums that also featured the work of Sting, Ravi Shankar, and Norah Jones. 

Most recently, Michaelsen released a My Pet Dragon holiday song called "New Year's Night", which was hailed as "a modern holiday classic" by the GoodbyeBabylon music blog.
